B & B12

B12

The model B12 is a larger guitar with the body join at the 12th fret. At just under 16” across the lower bout it competes with the Dreadnaught in size. As would be expected, the larger body gives the guitar a deep and noble resonance. The 12 fret body join adds a unique flavor to the way that it plays. I prefer to voice this guitar as a fingerstyle instrument with the emphasis on single notes carrying enough volume and character to compete with chords. I feel that this body shape and design allows for the best overall balance (in all senses) of the instruments that I build.

B

The model B is a baritone guitar with the same outline as the B12. I offer this guitar with a 14 fret join and a 28.69″ scale length for tunings with the low note tuned to the A-B range and with a 13 fret join and 27.125″ scale length for tunings in the C-D range for the lowest string. Either option results in a guitar where the lower notes carry real power and clarity without sacrificing richness in the treble register. Both scale lengths leave the bridge situated in the same place within the lower bout as the 12 fret Model B12 and as such single notes maintain their own signature personality as they do on that model. Braced as fingerstyle instruments they have the sensitivity to excel in a solo setting and braced for accompaniment they have a depth of sound, volume, and sonority that is not possible with a traditionally tuned guitar.
